A Newsletter and a Podcast

For over twenty-five years I have been a consultant to webmasters, small business owners, and IT departments of large businesses in all things related to the Internet and network administration. I have built websites, fixed websites, been the SEO and Pay-For-Click marketing specialist, and the database administrator for sites of all sizes. As a trained accountant, I have worked with CFOs, and done numerous upgrades of accounting systems to modern applications with digital interfaces.

For the last ten years, I have been an IT project manager, bringing together developers and other specialists, as a group, to handle website and local networks. We are in a workplace where finding the talent to deal with all the variations of complex code has become difficult. I step in myself to code, as necessary. I am very knowledgeable about outsourcing and about working with freelancers at all levels.

The CITSecured Newsletter is being launched to assist business owners of any size entity when wearing a webmaster’s hat for their website. It will be a helpful resource for business owners working with outside consultants, providing you with knowledge of the processes involved in repairing, updating, upgrading, or customizing a network or a website. You will be better able to assess and negotiate engagements, from a position of understanding the work to be done.

Expect suggestions, information, and real stories of solutions to problems faced by those responsible for website or network maintenance. These come from a deeply experienced consultant, having faced pretty much every kind of question on how to, why do, or options for solutions expected or recommended by third parties.

I will not dumb anything down. I will take time to explain in clear language the technical terms you will usually hear thrown about. I will speak to educate, instead of working to impress.

As readers and listeners add questions and comments on the blog or to the podcasts, I will be responsive in succeeding posts and podcasts.

I won’t evangelize about apps, hosting providers, etc. You will hear about components and solutions for network administrators and webmasters that I have admired, and on occasion about those that I thought was not a good fit for a client, and why one or the other was the case.

Tune in, or drop in. I will work to make the newsletter and the podcasts useful and entertaining. I will also work to leave you feeling more knowledgeable about managing your network and your website, and for having tuned in.
